Our Osteopaths
Louise Cooke LLb. BSc (Hons) Ost.
is a graduate
of the
British
School of Osteopathy (BSO) and Aberystwyth University.
She
is fully registered with the General
Osteopathic
Council and is a member of the
British osteopathic Association and the Sutherland
Society (Cranial Osteopathy)
She is currently pursuing the post graduate course
in “Osteopathy in the Cranial Field” with
the Sutherland Cranial College and has undergone
post graduate training in paediatric osteopathy and
the care of expectant mothers. She has a special
interest in the care of the elderly.
Brian McKenna BSc (Hons) Ost.
is
a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy (BSO),
is fully registered with the General Osteopathic
Council, is a member of t he British Osteopathic
Association, the British Medical Acupuncture Society
and is an honorary member of the Sutherland Cranial
College (SCC).
He was appointed by the privy council to the
General Osteopathic Council in 2009 which is the
body that regulates osteopathy in the UK.
He Teaches on the integrated Masters
Degree course at Swansea University and is pursuing
the post graduate “Osteopathy in the Cranial Field”
course with the SCC.
He has also completed post graduate
training in "dry needling" acupuncture and is a
member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society,
through which he continues his studies in
acupuncture.
He is a former committee member of the South Wales
Osteopathic Society and was recently made an
honorary member of the SCC. He also sits on their
research sub committee and on the research grants
governance committee for the National Council for
Osteopathic Research (NCOR)
He has written for both osteopathic and nursing
professional journals and lectured on many subjects,
including osteopathy, infantile colic and clinical
audit.
His main interests are in the fields of research,
shoulder dysfunction and paediatrics.
