Dr Brian McKenna D.Prof (Ost) BSc (Hons) Ost. FSCCO. PGcACE. Osteopath & Medical Acupuncturist
Brian qualified as an Osteopath over 20 years ago, from the University College of Osteopathy in London where he returned to complete his teacher training and complete his Doctorate in Osteopathy.

Brian has been precising Acupuncture / Dry needling for over twenty years now. shortly after qualifying he undertook a course in  Dry Needling/Medical Acupuncture with the Osteopathic Sports Care Association and has been practicing since. He is also a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Association.

Brian works in both the Cardiff and Newport clinics

Louise Cooke BSc (Hons) Ost. LLB (Hons) FSCCO. Osteopath & Medical Acupuncturist
Louise studied Osteopathy at The British School of Osteopathy in London.  She has undertaken post-graduate study in Western Medical Acupuncture and is a member of The British Medical Acupuncture Society.  
Louise is also trained in electro-acupuncture and has a special interest in the treatment of bladder dysfunction.

Louise works in our Cardiff and Penarth Clinics.

Louise is a graduate of Swansea University.  She has undertaken post-graduate study in Western Medical Acupuncture and is a member of The British Medical Acupuncture Society.

Maxine Smillie, Acupuncturist. Lic Ac, MBRCP (Oriental Division) Cert Hangzhou
Trained in the UK and China, Maxine has continued to professionally develop and treats people of all ages with many different health issues.
She has a special interest in Fertility and is affiliated to the Zita West Fertility Network, www.zitawest.com Maxine works with couples and individuals exploring their fertility, helping to put a 'strategy' in place to support good health. With 23 years experience with couples undertaking IVF, IUI, and ICSI. To date 495 babies have been born with support from Maxine's practice. Maxine offers support throughout their treatment .Research in 2009 showed Acupuncture during the IVF process improves the chances of successful pregnancy by 65% (British Medical Journal Feb 2009). 

Acupuncture can also be used safely during pregnancy and used to induce labour.

Maxine undertook further training for two years with Julian Scott, Dr Gascoigne and Teresa Barlow in Paediatric Acupuncture. The needling technique for children is very different and more specialised than with adults. Children and adults find it very effective.
